"For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?" ~ Isaiah 43:19

Isaiah is encouraging the people to lean in to what God is about to do in their life and in the land. They lived through the destruction of Jerusalem and now, it's time for something new. Isaiah tells them to let go of the past. Do not linger in what has been. Do not become overwhelmed by all they have seen. Instead, know that God is about to redeem. He is about to restore. He is about to do something new. In fact, He has already started. And if they would take their eyes off of what was they just might see what is to come.

Research shows that 65% of the population are visual learners. This means in order to truly grasp something they usually need to see it for themselves. They need to experience it. They need a tangible reference. I am a visual learner. And often times my desire or need to see things is an obstacle for my faith. I want to see the financial plan. I want to see where a path is leading. I want to see before I leap. However, the closer I grow to God and the more intimate we become, the more He challenges me in this area. My habits, my behaviors, and even my thoughts are driven by what I see and experience. But, God wants to do something new. For me. For you. For His creation. In fact, He already is; we just need to focus on Him to see it.

I am not sure what you experienced in your past. I don't know what tragedies you have seen. And, I cannot speak to what you struggle with releasing. But here is what I can tell you... God is focused on your future. Your past cannot be changed and He is not concerned. He is standing before you leading you to something new. Don't look back. Look towards Him. Because, when we focus on God - He becomes all we need to see.
